BASIC RUNDOWN

Jonathan Strange is one of two magicians in regency England. He's charming, gets along well with most people, a dedicated worker, and yearns for the respect of his mentor...while also being horribly arrogant, short-sighted as hell, intensely self-destructive, and has the self-preservation instinct of a suicidal lemming with a one track mind to end all one track minds. This is a man who thought that driving himself mad was a good idea, who strolled right into the realm of faerie after discovering an entryway, and was so focused in his convictions that he wrote a book review shittalking the book he helped write. He's a fucking train wreck and he's got a prophecy that outlines it.

Despite the tv canon pb, I'm flexible for tv or book canon. For memes, I usually default to post-canon or some awkward AU scenario but I'm flexible with regards to canon point.

OOC PERMISSIONS

Player: Kates

Usual tagging times/pace: CST. I try to tag at least once per day, but will definitely tag at least every two or three days.

Backtagging: forever and a day, baby

Fourthwalling policy: blanket nope! Because really, how many people would know about the canon to begin with.

Action vs. Prose: Prose preferable, but flexible.

Offensive Subjects & Triggers: I won't tag or plot things related to suicidal idealization, the death or serious injury of a child under 13, or gratuitous descriptions of bodily functions (basically, don't lovingly describe your character's drool/vomit/bathroom stuff/etc.)


IC PERMISSIONS

Physical Violence: let's write this shit and get it gnarly, baby. Strange can't punch and doesn't really know how to use his magic in an offensive 'punch a guy' sort of way. Needless to say, he can go down pretty easily.

Mental Information: I mean he literally drove himself mad. That's...a thing. Thankfully, Strange is much more stable now but due to the fact that he's prone to making REALLY AWFUL DECISIONS, there's very easy potential for backsliding. Any sort of creepy telepathing would be able to pick up that he doesn't take loss well in the slightest and is far too impulsive for his own good.

Physical Affection: He's a very needy man but, as a whole, Strange isn't going to progress beyond gently placing a hand on someone/those sort of calm, platonic sort of gestures (unless we assume some CR, of course).

IC Triggers: buddy's got a smidge of wartime PTSD but he can definitely talk about it.

Relationships: Open to assumed friendships. Also open to romantic relationships, both m/f and m/m, 18+ with the caveat that things'll probably be post-canon, AU, canon-bending, etc. Strange is married in canon and really likes his wife, y'all.

Smut: I don't mind writing smut. However, like with the romance prompts, we'll need to plan some shit out ahead of time.
