Shura doesn't know what god to thank for Strange's acquiescence, but she's happy it didn't take much. If he seems comfortable with her excuse and reasoning, then she'll take it as a sign that she needs to get on the move.
"A bath? Well, if you wanna try that, then go ahead." Aconite... might be okay with it. Shishi was there to act as back up, so Shura isn't too worried about the trouble Strange is going to get into if he tries bathing both dragons at the same time. It'll be a good distraction for hi if nothing else, and Shura will sit up, looking for wherever her shorts went.
"All over the place," Strange admits. An organized system? Naaah, that's not his style. To his credit, he does look a little sheepish about his completely chaotic organizing system. "But most of them can be found in the kitchen cabinets or in the trunk in the living room."
It's not like Shura's really surprised by his answer, and let's be real, she's only marginally more organized than he is.
"Got it." And there are her shorts! With those in hand, she'll actually get out of the bed. She has her goals--clean up, check the stuff, and go before Strange changes his mind. Oh, and check his alcohol. Better make sure there was something harder than wine in the cabinets.
Unfortunately, there is nothing harder than wine in the cabinets.
Strange lingers in bed for a moment, as if he's debating whether or not to get up. But then, he hears a small thud from the other room. Damn, the dragons might have woken up. With a grumbling noise, he gets to his feet then fishes around to try and find his pair of pants.
"I should go check on the troublesome two. Be safe out there, alright?"
Strange is clearly not prepared for Shura to come live with him if he's missing both a nice tub with magically heated water and hard liquor. But at least the booze can be settled.
"Yeah, yeah, I'll be careful." Who is he, her dad? Whatever his concern may be, Shura isn't terribly worried about any of the dangers in the city. She'll take a quick inventory of what he has laying around the house before heading out. After a few hours, she'll return from a mostly successful shopping. She has everything she needs for the wards, which is good, but more importantly, she's bringing back dinner! And booze, but dinner first! But before she can eat, she has to make sure that Strange hasn't somehow wrecked himself and/or the dragons, so she'll very cautiously shut the door behind her before calling out.
"I'm back." Maybe she should drop everything off in the kitchen before venturing further in??
The moment she talks, Shura can hear the pitter-patter of tiny little dragon feet as both of the dragons scamper to the door in order to greet her. Aconite is nice and clean: she did get that bath. Alistair is still a little wet, having just finished getting a bath. And behind them, also thoroughly wet though not by choice, is Strange.
He follows the dragons into the main area and gives Shura a small smile. "Welcome back," says the obviously exhausted man. Giving baths was harder than he thought! "How was everything?"
It's almost cute, having two dumb little dragons racing to come see her. Aconite begins to make happy little chittering noises, bouncing from side to side and keeping close to Shura's heels. She's waiting for the first chance to try and jump up on Shura and climb her way up to her shoulder, but Shura knows exactly what Aconite's plan is, and she'll keep moving to dodge any of her attempts at jumping up.
"You look like you took a bath with them," she tells Strange, giving him a quick look over before moving to drop off the bags of stuff in the kitchen. She expects him to follow her like the puppy he is, so she'll just let him try and explain himself while she gets things half put away.
Being a bit of a chonker, Alistair doesn't jump. Instead, he also stays close to Shura's heels while occasionally pawing at her leg. He obviously wants to be picked up and is going to follow Shura until that happens!
Strange is also going to follow Shura and walks into the kitchen with her. He sighs, shaking his head a little. "Aconite was well-behaved. She whined the entire time, but she stayed still. Alistair was the troublesome one. He tried to climb out of the bath at every opportunity."
"She's probably too tired to put up much of a fight," Shura replies. She's almost surprised that Alistair was causing a fuss, seeing as he was getting attention. But a bath wasn't a good sort of attention for a wiggly dragon, and that was probably the difference.
"Mm. I guess it's good that he's got some spirit." Dinner to one side, bottle of what is probably some kind of moonshine to the other side, and then the magical supplies put up and away somewhere where it'll take the dragons just a few extra seconds to find. Once that's done, Shura will finally look down to Alistair. What, what did he want? If she knelt down to look closer, then Aconite would jump up on her, so Shura just looks down at Alistair, wondering just what his deal is.
Alistair continues to paw at Shura's leg as they walk to the kitchen. When she looks down at him, he starts whining in a loud, obnoxious fashion.
Strange knows what this is. He sighs as he looks down at Alistair, shaking his head at the tiny dragon. As he talks, he leans up against the wall, looking from Alistair to Shura.
"He wants you to pick him up. It's a bad habit he's developed," thanks to Strange, "and he's probably bothering you instead of me because I'm the one who cruelly gave him a bath."
If Alistair's going to whine obnoxiously, then Aconite is going to join right in. Great, they're both being super annoying! Shura scowls, half-listening to Strange between the sad dragon sounds.
"He'll get over it." Probably. He'd probably forget by the end of the night, but that doesn't help her right here and now. Well, the evening was still young, and it wouldn't hurt to play with the two idiots for a bit. Get their energy out so they could pass out and let her get drunk in peace. With most everything about as put up as Shura wants, she'll move closer to Strange, reaching out to tug on his damp shirt and continuing to ignore both dragons.
"Go change out of this. I'll keep an eye on them for a bit." Is that nagging concern? No, of course not. This is just being practical!
When Shura moves closer to tug at his shirt, Strange can't help but give her a grin...which then fades to a bit of a confused expression when she tells him to get changed. He thought they were going to go back to kissing or sex or something along those lines! Still, Shura telling him to get changed is cute in it's own way, so that expression lasts for just a moment.
"You worry too much!" says the person who doesn't worry at all. "The shirt's fine, it's just a little wet. Still, if you insist."
βIf you get sick, it ainβt my problem, windbag!β Sheβs not worrying about him in a cutesy way, sheβs just being practical, gosh!! Strange is determined to drive her crazy with stupid sentimentality. Still, itβs easier to huff over this than it would be to guess at what thoughts were going through that horny peabrain of his, so sheβll just ignore whatever other nonsense he might spout off next. She turns her attention back to the dragons, who are still whining and pawing at her, vying for attention.
βHush, youβre fine. Cβmon, letβs go somewhere else.β Like the living room, where she can sit on the floor and play with them. They might even get headpats, how exciting!
As Shura turns her attention to the dragons, Strange gives all of them a small nod. But if she wants him to change, then he'll do so. Once they're all distracted, Strange takes the moment to slip away, walking back to his room. He does change out of that shirt, mostly because Shura wants him to.
And don't mind Strange as he takes a moment or two to catch his breath. Dragons are exhausting! And that's why he's not going to stick around and hide in his room for too long. He takes a moment to button up his shirt all the way before walking back to Shura and the dragons.
"How was the city?" Strange asks, as he walks towards the group.
He'll find them on the floor, Aconite on Shura's shoulder and Alistair in her lap. Alistair might not be getting his preferred cuddles, but hey, there are fingers waving enticingly in his face, and he might be getting the urge to reach out for one. Or maybe this is just a neat show before getting the pets, who knows. Shura holds Aconite in place on her shoulder to stop her from pouncing on her other hand. The dragons take enough of her attention that she doesn't turn to look at Strange, but she'll give a distract reply.
"About as bad as it has been. Didn't get everything I wanted, but I can work with what I got." It'll just take a bit more magic. Annoying, but she could handle it.
Might as well be a good dragon dad and help Shura out here. As he talks, Strange walks over to the group and sits down on the floor as well.
"If one of the things you need is a plant, I can try to grow it. The magic works best if there is something to work with, but I might be able to coax something out of the earth without a seedling."
When Strange sits down, Alistair looks over at him for a moment before deciding to focus his attention back on Shura's fingers.
Okay dragon, this isn't a puppet show. Was he just a lazy little turd?? Shura is having to consider other ways of getting him to move around. He was a baby, he had to have a bit more play in him, right??
"Mm, if you could figure out a way to get some more bay leaves, that might help." Maybe it was a good idea to give Strange a job to do instead of little him try to figure out how to help on his own. Shura considers what else she can have him do to keep himself occupied if he decides to stick the next day. Well, hopefully he'd go to the library and do whatever kind of nerd stuff he was so fond of. For right now, she'll just try tapping Alistair's nose with her finger to see if she can provoke him into trying to catch it.
"Do you have a bay leaf or two I can use to experiment with? I should be able to grow more leaves out of one we already have."
Shura poking him on the nose does spur Alistair to act and try to catch her finger. Unfortunately, he tries to catch her finger with his mouth, attempting to lightly nip at Shura's finger to hopefully hold it still.
The moment Alistair goes to bite, Strange just looks horrified.
"I wasn't able to grab any," Shura says, more focused on Alistair than Strange when she notices the way he moves right before he moves to grab her finger with his teeth. So long as the bite isn't too hard and he isn't drawing blood, Shura will keep going, gently shaking her finger in his mouth to see if he'll drop it before she moves to push him on his stomach or side. Strange will go entirely ignored as Shura has enough to pay attention to with Alistair and Aconite in her shoulder nearly squawking at seeing Alistair getting to play while she's stuck.
"Pity. That'll make the magic harder, but it's still worth a try."
As Shura focuses on Alistair, Strange focuses on him as well, making certain to keep an eye on the little terror so he doesn't draw blood. The bite is soft, more meant to try and keep Shura still than draw blood. It's easy enough to push the dragon on his side. When that happens, Alistair lets out a little whine before attempting to make a kicky motion towards Shura's arms.
"I can play with Aconite if you want," Strange remarks, as he looks over at the tinier dragon. "You have your hands full."
Good. Alistair might have missed out on some playfighting experience early on, but at least he has some instincts to rely on. Shura will keep wrestling with him, trying not to push him too hard just quite yet. She'll stop for just a moment when Strange offers to take Aconite. Was this a good idea? Eh, whatever, it's one less thing for her to worry about for the next thirty seconds, so Aconite will be quickly handed over with a quick thanks before Shura turns her attention back to Alistair.
The switch has Aconite slightly confused. One second she was trying to get down off of Shura's shoulder so she could play with Alistair and Shura, the next she's staring at Strange. She pauses in her struggle, cocking her head and staring at Strange. What game was he going to play?
Alistair continues to wrestle with Shura, attempting to grab onto her arm with his front paws while continuing to try and do kick motions at her with his back ones. All in all, it looks a little bit like a cat wrestling something, but if that cat was blue and fuzzy and had wings.
Once Strange receives Aconite, he sits the dragon down in his lap. One hand goes around behind Aconite, to keep her from jumping out of his lap and bothering Shura and Alistair. The other hand goes right to her belly as Strange attempts to start tickling the tiny dragon.
So long as Alistair has some fight in him, Shura will keep on playing with him. It's good exercise for him as well as a good survival skill! Strange wanted her to teach him stuff like this, so it's good!
Meanwhile, Aconite just doesn't understand what is happening. This is weird. Shura, lacking in the physical affection side of things, hasn't ever tried tickling her. Harass, yes, but tickle? Aconite just keeps staring at Strange, trying to figure out what the point of this whole thing is. Is this... playing? What the heck, dude, you're bad at this.
Considering that nobody's trying to fight back in return, Alistair has plenty of fight in him. Ineffectual fight, but fight nonetheless. He continues his tactic of light biting + ineffective leg kickies to try and wrestle Shura's arm into submission.
Whereas Strange, who's nothing but physically affectionate, is keeping this up. Tickling doesn't seem to do much, maybe she likes scratches instead? And so, he starts giving Aconite tiny little scratches, moving from under her chin to behind her ears, stopping whenever he hits that sweet spot that Aconite enjoys.
The scritches aren't bad, but Aconite is just a little confused. What was she supposed to be doing here? But then Strange finds just the right spot between her wings, and Aconite lets out a satisfied sound. This feels nice, nice enough to sit still in Strange's lap for a whole minute. After that minute, though, something in the corner of the room catches her attention, and she goes tearing off after it without a second thought. Shura watches out of the corner of her eye, deciding that it probably wasn't going to be worth trying to catch Aconite after that, and looks to Strange.
"I got some food when I was out. If you're hungry, go ahead and eat." Alistair can keep trying to kick her hand to death, he needs the practice.
